How to Engage

The practice takes on
matters it can serve
with distinction.

Not every engagement is the right fit. That is precisely why the first conversation matters. Jan Law Consulting does not take on every matter that arrives. That conversation begins when you are ready.

Engagement Models

Three ways to engage the practice.

Model 01
Defined Engagement

A defined engagement with agreed scope, clear outputs, and a specific outcome. For organisations that have identified a particular matter and need it handled with complete specialist attention from inception to delivery.

This model includes
Defined scope and agreed timeline
Fixed or capped engagement fee
All work coordinated with legal counsel
Specific outcome agreed at outset
Begin a conversation
Model 02
Embedded Operations

The practice embedded within your organisation's existing structure, operating to your existing standards, for a defined period or on a continuing basis. For organisations that need legal operations capability without the employment commitment.

This model includes
Ongoing engagement on retainer or project basis
Full integration with existing legal counsel
Contract lifecycle and workflow management
Available at the volume the work demands

Model 03
Advisory Retainer

An ongoing advisory relationship providing access to the practice for matters as they arise. For organisations that want the certainty of specialist availability without structuring a full engagement for each matter.

This model includes
Priority access to the practice
Ongoing matter support as needs arise
Institutional familiarity with client standards
Quarterly or annual retainer structure

The Process

From first conversation to final work product.

The most elegant test of a professional services firm is whether its quality is consistent regardless of which individual is on any given matter. At Jan Law Consulting, it is. The capability is embedded in the practice: in the methodology that shapes every review and the standards that govern every engagement.

Clients receive a practice. What they experience is always the same standard.

01
Initial Conversation

A focused conversation to understand the matter, the organisation's existing legal counsel structure, and whether this practice can serve the engagement at the standard it deserves. No commitment required from either party at this stage.

02
Engagement Scoping

If the engagement is the right fit, the practice and the client agree on scope, timeline, and the specific outcome to be achieved. Every engagement is structured around a defined result, not an open retainer of undefined scope.

03
Counsel Integration

The practice establishes a working relationship with the client's designated legal counsel. All contract work is produced for counsel review, approval, and direction throughout.

04
Delivery

Work is produced against the actual situation, reviewed against the complete body of applicable law and regulation, and delivered ready for the scrutiny that matters. The work leaves this practice ready for whatever comes next.

The first conversation costs nothing
and commits neither party to anything.

It determines whether this practice can serve you at the standard you deserve.
