Jan Law Consulting is a boutique corporate advisory practice where every engagement carries consequence and every professional carries real responsibility. This is not a training ground. It is a place where serious people do serious work at the standard it deserves.
View Open RolesThe practice is small by design. Every person here works directly on the matters that define the practice's reputation. There are no layers between the work and the professional doing it. That demands a certain kind of person, and it produces a certain kind of career.
Every engagement runs through the practice's principal. Work here is not delegated down. That means what you produce is what the client receives, and the standard you are held to reflects that directly.
Boutique practice means there is nowhere to hide behind a team and no credit to share when something goes well. Both of those are features. The people who thrive here are the ones who want it that way.
The work requires genuine analytical depth. Regulatory frameworks, commercial contract structures, governance architecture — these are not topics you fake your way through. The practice expects fluency and rewards it.
All roles are based in Plano, Texas. The practice operates on a hybrid model where appropriate. Remote engagement is considered on a matter basis for qualified candidates.
Jan Law Consulting is seeking a Senior Data Analyst to build, own, and operate the practice's analytical capabilities across contract portfolio intelligence, regulatory risk mapping, and client engagement reporting. This is not a back office support role. The analyst functions as a core delivery contributor, working directly alongside the practice principal on client engagements where data analysis shapes commercial and legal strategy.
The right candidate understands that in a boutique advisory practice, the analyst's output lands directly in front of sophisticated clients. There is no intermediate layer. The work must be accurate, defensible, and presented with the clarity that decision making demands.
The Contracts Specialist sits at the operational core of the practice's Contract Intelligence discipline. This person reviews, drafts, redlines, and supports the negotiation of commercial agreements across technology, financial services, regulated industries, and international organisations. The work requires both technical precision and the commercial intelligence to know what actually matters in a negotiation.
This role demands a professional who can hold a position under pressure, explain a legal consequence in plain terms to a non lawyer executive, and produce work product that the practice principal can deliver to a client without further editing. That last sentence is the standard. Everything else follows from it.
The Legal Operations Associate supports the design, implementation, and management of legal operations infrastructure across client engagements. This role sits at the intersection of process, technology, and commercial law — working to build the systems that make a legal or procurement function measurably more effective than it was before the engagement began.
The practice deploys this discipline across organisations that range from growth stage technology companies to regulated institutions and international NGOs. No two engagements are identical. The associate must be adaptable, precise, and capable of building infrastructure from first principles rather than applying a template and calling it done.
Every professional is judged by what they produce, not what they say about what they produce. Titles matter less than track records. The practice has no patience for performance without substance.
Client confidentiality is not a policy the practice enforces. It is the personal standard of everyone who works here. The practice's clients trust it with consequential matters. That trust is sacred.
The practice serves clients across multiple continents and regulatory environments. The perspectives, lived experiences, and professional backgrounds of everyone here make the work better. That is not a slogan. It is the reason the practice actively seeks them.
The practice rewards professionals who expand their capability and take on greater responsibility with demonstrated competence. There are no automatic promotions. There are also no artificial ceilings for people who earn them.
Applications are reviewed by the practice principal. There are no keyword filters or automated screening tools. Every application is read by the person who will make the hiring decision.
Submit your application through the role specific link above. Include a cover letter that addresses the specific requirements of the role. Generic cover letters will not advance. Work samples, where requested, are treated as seriously as the application itself.
The practice does not make decisions on timeline. The process ends when the right candidate is identified. That typically takes between two and four weeks from initial application to offer.
View Open RolesThe practice occasionally brings on exceptional professionals whose capabilities align with the work even when no specific opening exists. If you believe you belong here, the practice is willing to hear that case. Make it specific. Generic expressions of interest will not be acknowledged.
